Busts of famous composers on granite columns surround the red-roofed Music Pavilion in Tower Grove Park. It is one of the park’s thirteen Victorian pavilions of varying sizes and architectural flavors that date from the 1870’s. The bandstand is a favorite site for weddings as well as the venue for the Musical Mondays summer concerts by the Compton Heights Concert Band. The composers’ busts, all sculpted in white marble, include Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner, Rossini, Gounod and Verdi.
